What is JUVÉDERM®?

JUVÉDERM® is a hyaluronic acid based dermal filler that is injected to smooth wrinkles and/or add volume to the face. As we age we lose a teaspoon of volume in our face every year after the age of 20. One vial equals a teaspoon of product. JUVÉDERM® is a popular choice for wrinkle and fine reduction, lip enhancement, and it can also be used in the nasolabial folds on either side of the nose. JUVÉDERM® treatment has immediate results, and patients will enjoy their results for several months after initial treatment.

How does JUVÉDERM®Work?

As a person ages, the skin begins to lose its natural storage of hyaluronic acid. This results in sagging and the formation of wrinkles and fine lines in the face. Hyaluronic acid is filled in the fatty tissue of the desired area that needs restoration. Juvederm is not an invasive or surgical procedure.

What are the Different Areas Treated with JUVÉDERM®?

JUVÉDERM® Volbella adds subtle volume to the lips and reduces the appearance of vertical lip lines. JUVÉDERM® Voluma adds volume in the cheek area to restore a more youthful appearance. JUVÉDERM® XC smooths moderate to severe parentheses lines and wrinkles to create a smoother appearance. Depending on which areas of the face that you desire treatment, your injector will discuss the types of fillers that are appropriate for that area.

What is JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC?

JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC temporarily adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face. The lidocaine in the gel improves the comfort of the injection. Most patients need 1 treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing, and the results last about 9 months to 1 year.

What is JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC?

JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC temporarily adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face. The lidocaine in the gel improves the comfort of the injection. Most patients need 1 treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing, and the results last about 1 year.

What is JUVÉDERM® Vollure XC?

JUVÉDERM® Vollure XC is the first and only  FDA-approved filler to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds for up to 18 months. Add subtle volume to smooth facial wrinkles and folds.

What is JUVÉDERM® Volbella XC?

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC is a crystal-clear gel that is injected directly into and around the lips using an ultrafine needle to temporarily plump the lips for lip enhancement and to smooth the appearance of lines around the mouth in adults over the age of 21. The lidocaine in the gel improves the comfort of the injection by reducing sensitivity to pain.

What is JUVÉDERM® Voluma XC?

JUVÉDERM® Voluma XC is the newest addition to the JUVÉDERM® family of dermal filler products. It is most commonly used to add volume to the cheeks in patients with age-related volume loss. JUVÉDERM® Voluma can be used in conjunction with Botox, JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus and skin resurfacing to achieve a nonsurgical face lift.

What is the Cost of JUVÉDERM® Treatment?

JUVÉDERM® is priced by the syringe. The cost will be different for each patient based on the total amount of syringes needed to achieve the desired level of volume correction. Most patients need at least one syringe of product per area. Tonya Sook, APRN-C will help each patient determine how much product will give them the desired results.

Is The Injection Process Painful?

No, most patients don't experience any significant level of pain or discomfort during a JUVÉDERM® XC, JUVÉDERM® Volbella, or JUVÉDERM® Voluma XC treatment. A numbing cream is used before any JUVÉDERM® treatment to help keep patients comfortable.

What is the Recovery Process After JUVÉDERM® Treatment?

The recovery process is a fairly fast one, and in fact, patients can generally resume their usual routine right away if they wish. There may be some minor swelling and redness at the injection site, but this usually dissipates within just a few days.
