SHOULD YOU GET A CHEMICAL PEEL?

Many people equate a chemical peel with something scary. Maybe you remember that co-worker that did ‘something’ to their skin and looked awful for weeks. Fortunately, there are many different types of chemical peels ranging from light superficial peels with minimal to no downtime, to deeper peels that do require some recovery time.

We are pleased to offer a variety of light to medium depth chemical peels here at Ozark Dermatology Aesthetics:

GLOW PEEL - Want a little textural improvement with little to no visible peeling? Our Glow Peel is the perfect choice. This peel is a proprietary combination of acids in a unique gel delivery system. It is left on the skin for approximately ten minutes and is very comfortable while on the skin. Most patients experience a mild sloughing that begins a couple days after the peel. Once the sloughing has finished, your skin will have a smoother texture and will absorb product more readily.

ILLUMINATE PEEL – Are you having issues with stubborn pigment and uneven skin tone? Our medical Illuminate Peel is a great option for this. It is paired with a customized at-home follow up skin care system to give you an overall brightening and textural improvement.

PERFECT PEEL – Don’t mind some visible peeling? This is the peel for you! This is a unique leave-on peel which delivers a medium depth exfoliation of the epidermis without drying out the skin. This peel is applied in our office, left on for approximately eight hours and is then removed at home. You will be sent home with a take-home kit that includes a moisturizer, two peel enhancing retinol wipes and a sunscreen. (Note: The heaviest peeling usually begins on the third day, so if you want to peel over the weekend we recommend having the peel applied on a Wednesday morning.)

ACNE PEEL - If you struggle with breakouts, our Acne Peel can be a great compliment to a prescription regimen to get you back to clear skin. It is typically recommended in a series, depending on your skin type and severity of acne.

PUMPKIN PEEL/FACIAL - Just in time for fall we are offering, for a limited time, a seasonal pumpkin peel and facial. This very gentle peel uses yam and pumpkin enzymes to lift off dead skin cells and is followed by a soothing and hydrating pumpkin mask.

The fall and winter are the best times to get a chemical peel, as most people are getting less sun exposure than they have all summer. Your skin can be somewhat photosensitive post peel and we always stress the importance of daily sunscreen to protect your results and prevent further sun damage! Take advantage of some great specials on our peels and products at our upcoming Fall Fest To Go event on October 15th.
